Remarks by Ambassador Wang Xuefeng at Grand Opening

尊敬的图伊拉埃帕总理，

尊敬的费亚梅副总理，

尊敬的萨工程、交通与基础设施部李航部长，

尊敬的各位内阁部长、各位议员，

尊敬的上海建工海外部经理劳振威先生，

各位驻萨外交使节和国际组织代表，

各位嘉宾，

女士们、先生们，

　　今天，我们怀着十分喜悦的心情，在这里热烈庆祝法雷奥罗国际机场升级改造二期工程胜利竣工。经过中萨两国工程建设者两年多的共同努力，期盼已久的法雷奥罗国际机场升级改造工程圆满完成并顺利移交。在此，我谨代表中国驻萨摩亚大使馆向萨摩亚政府和人民以及全体工程建设者表示热烈的祝贺！

　　升级改造后的法雷奥罗国际机场，航站楼面积将由原先的5500平米扩展到12700平米，年接待旅客量将达到60万人次，每小时最大接待旅客量也将达到300人次。新机场是南太平洋地区最现代化、最先进、最美观的国际机场之一，极大地提升了萨国际机场的服务水准、运营能力以及航空管理水平，使萨摩亚向成为南太平洋地区航空运输枢纽的目标又迈近了一步。

Ladies and gentlemen,

It is with great pleasure for me and my colleagues from Chinese Embassy to attend this grand Opening of Phase 2 of New Terminal building. With the joint efforts of people of all walks of life of both China and Samoa, the upgrading project of Faleolo International Airport has completed successfully. On behalf of the Chinese embassy, I would like to extend my warmest congratulations to the successful completion of this new airport. 

The new terminal building has the total floor space of 12,500 square meters, more than twice of the old building. It will reach the capacity of passenger throughput of 600,000 per year. The new Faleolo International Airport has become the best international airport in all the Pacific island countries. With the upgraded services, excellent operation capability and aviation management, Samoa has moved a step further toward the aviation hub in the South Pacific region.
