中美两国在地区和全球性问题上保持密切沟通与协调。两国在防扩散、人道主义危机、维和、发展援助、公共卫生等领域紧密合作，并率先批准《巴黎协定》，为国际社会应对气候变化挑战作出表率。

Another highlight of China-U.S. cooperation is in tackling international and regional issues as well as global challenges. The two countries have been working together on non-proliferation issues, humanitarian crises, UN peacekeeping missions, development assistance, and public health issues. China and the U.S. were also among the first to approve the Paris Agreement on climate change.

中美关系的丰硕成果不胜枚举。当今世界正发生深刻复杂的变化，中美合作是应对21世纪挑战的关键。

The list is almost inexhaustible. What matters more is that China-U.S. relations has become all-encompassing, and China-U.S. cooperation more critical in addressing the challenges in the 21st century.

女士们，先生们，

Ladies and Gentleman,

今年是美国大选年。确保中美关系平稳发展并顺利过渡到美新一届政府符合双方共同利益，也符合国际社会的利益。中方愿与美方共同努力，按照两国元首指引的方向，加强沟通，增进互信，扩大合作，建设性管控分歧，推动中美关系在正确的轨道上继续稳定向前发展，与国际社会一起应对当今世界面临的挑战。

The world today is undergoing profound changes. We owe to our future generations an open, integrated and interdependent community of countries. Sound development of China-U.S. relations in the U.S. election year and its smooth transition into the new administration next January serves the interest of not only both countries, but also the whole world. We are willing to work with the U.S. side, as guided by our leaders, to strengthen communications, enhance mutual trust, expand cooperation, and manage differences constructively, so that together with the entire international community we can stand up to the challenges of our times.
