为起到“明文规定”或“法定要求”的修辞效果，英文标准文献常在第三人称使用shall+ v及其被动语态，即shll + be + v-ed (或委婉的should + v及should + be + v-ed)或其否定，来表示“必须”、“应该”、'‘不应”、“不得”。例如：
