Statement by H.E. Ambassador WANG Qun on the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People
主席先生：
11月27日，联合国举行“声援巴勒斯坦人民国际日”纪念大会，习近平主席向大会致贺电，体现了中方对巴勒斯坦问题的高度重视。
巴勒斯坦问题是中东问题的核心，关系巴勒斯坦等中东各国长治久安和繁荣发展。全面公正解决巴勒斯坦问题，实现巴以两国和平共处、共同发展，符合国际社会共同利益。
Mr. Chairman,
On 27th of November, the UNHQ in New York observed the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory message to the event, which fully demonstrates the importance China attaches to the Palestinian issue.
The issue of Palestine is at the core of the Middle East issue, and it has a bearing on the long-term peace, prosperity and development of all Middle Eastern countries, including Palestine. A comprehensive and just solution of the Palestinian issue and the achievement of peaceful coexistence between Palestine and Israel and their shared development serve the common interest of the international community.
中国是巴勒斯坦人民真诚的好朋友、好伙伴、好兄弟，是巴以和平的坚定支持者。中国支持巴勒斯坦人民恢复民族合法权利的正义事业，支持建立以1967年边界为基础、以东耶路撒冷为首都、拥有完全主权的、独立的巴勒斯坦国。
国际社会应该维护公平正义，坚持联合国有关决议、“土地换和平”原则和“两国方案”大方向，为恢复巴以和谈创造良好氛围。中方支持联合国及其安理会在中东问题上发挥更大作用。
As a sincere good friend, good partner and good brother of the Palestinian people, China is a staunch supporter of peace between Palestine and Israel. China supports the just cause of the Palestinian people to restore their legitimate national rights. We support the establishment of an independent Palestine State with full sovereignty based on the 1967 borders and with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The international community should uphold fairness and justice, stick to relevant UN resolutions, the 'land for peace' principle, and the general direction of a two-state solution, so as to create a conducive environment for resuming peace talks between Palestine and Israel. China supports a greater role by the UN and its Security Council in the Middle Eastern issue.
中国愿继续同国际社会一道，推动巴以双方和谈，为早日实现中东全面、公正、持久和平作出不懈努力。

China stands ready to continue to work alongside the international community to push forward the peace talks between Palestine and Israel. China will work tirelessly towards comprehensive, just and lasting peace in the Middle East at an early date.
