作为亚太地区具有重要影响的国家，中、澳在维护地区和平稳定、促进共同发展与繁荣方面拥有广泛共同利益。两国没有历史恩怨和根本利益冲突，利益高度互补。双方应在相互尊重、平等互利原则基础上，妥善处理好分歧，增进共识和信任，推动中澳关系尽早回到正轨，这符合两国和两国人民的根本利益。
Ladies and Gentlemen,
As countries of great importance in the Asia-Pacific, China and Australia share broad common interests in maintaining peace and stability, and promoting common development and prosperity.
Our two countries have no historic grievances or conflicts in fundamental interests. Our economies are highly complementary. It's in the fundamental interest of our two countries and peoples to strengthen mutual understanding and trust, properly manage differences based on equality, mutual respect, and mutual benefit, thus promoting the China-Australia relations back on the right track.
两个月前，我有幸访问了塔斯马尼亚州，并会见了华纳州督女士、霍奇曼州长及各界代表。塔州美丽独特的自然风光、热情活力的人民以及各界致力于发展对华关系的积极性给我留下了深刻印象。中方赞赏霍奇曼州长领导的塔州政府积极发展对华关系的决心和努力。“距离不是问题”，纵使相隔万里，中国和塔州近年来在经贸、文化、教育、地方交往等各领域合作取得了丰硕成果。目前中国已成为塔州第一大贸易伙伴、第一大海外学生和国际旅游收入来源地。今年也是习近平主席访问塔州5周年，中国和塔州的合作站在新的起点上，我相信，在双方共同努力下，中国和塔州的交流合作将会更上一层楼。
Two months ago, I have had the pleasure to meet with H.E. the Hon. Governor Kate Warner, Hon. Premier Will Hodgman and representatives from all works of life during my first official visit to Tasmania. I was deeply impressed by the enchanting scenery, the enthusiastic people and the enthusiasm showed by the State Government and the broader society for developing our friendly relations. The Chinese side appreciates the resolution and efforts of the Tasmanian Government led by the Premier Will Hodgman to promote the cooperation between China and Tasmania. Although China and Tasmania may be at a significant distance geographically, the cooperation in the areas of economy, trade, culture and education have achieved fruitful results. That means distance will never be a problem. At present, China has become Tasmania's largest trading partner, largest source of overseas students and international tourist receipts.
This year also marks the fifth anniversary of President Xi's visit to Tasmania. The cooperation between China and Tasmania has reached at a new starting point. I believe that with our joint efforts, the exchange and cooperation between us will be pushed towards a higher level.

华人社区是澳多元文化社会的重要组成部分，多年来为当地经济社会发展作出了重要贡献。各位华侨华人朋友在辛苦创业的同时，依然关心祖（籍）国发展、促进中澳友好，我对此表示诚挚的谢意，希望大家继续关心祖（籍）国和家乡的发展，发扬中华民族勤劳善良的传统美德，发挥独特优势和桥梁作用，做好当地经济社会发展的建设者、祖（籍）国发展的贡献者和中澳友谊的友好使者。祖国的发展强大始终是海外中华儿女的坚强后盾和力量源泉，中国驻墨尔本总领馆永远是广大侨胞在外的依靠，永远是你们的家！
Ladies and Gentlemen,
The Chinese community is an integral part of the multicultural Australian society and makes important contributions to the economic and social development of Tasmania. I wish to express my heartfelt thanks to you all for caring about the development of China and promoting the friendship between China and Australia. I also hope that the Chinese community will continue to work hard, pay back to the local community and serve as linking bridge, contribute more to the friendship between our two countries and mutual understanding between our two peoples.
