拉丁后缀-al有两种属性：一是加在名词或名词性词根后面，构成形容词，意思相当于of〜（…的），like〜（像…的），having the nature of〜（有…性质的）。是作为派生后缀加在动词后面，构成名词，意思相当于the act of〜ing，即表示该行为。请注意，-al作为形容词后缀时，有-ial, -ical, -ual等音变异体。
