举例说明：
[Scenario: Chris Patten, the then European Commissioner for External Relations, speaks to the plenary session of the European Parliament on July 3rd 2000. We took stock of the European Union’s relations with Russia and the situation there, including in Chechnya, in the light of the recent EU-Russia Summit, which I think is regarded as fairly successful.
听完整句话后，我们会感觉到这个句子很长，也比较复杂，不好理解。但如果我们注意按源语的意群来进行听辨，就会好理解得多。试着再听一遍，注意辨别其意群：We took stock of/ the European Union’s relations/ with Russia/ and the situation there，/ including in Chechnya,/ in the light of the recent EU-Russia Summit，/ which I think/ is regarded as fairly successful.
现在我们试着以“条块化”的方式来摄取句子的主干信息。主句的主、谓、宾分别是 “We…took stock of...relations...and the situation”,从句的主干是 “Successful”。以这种方式进行听辨理解，我们就能准确地把捤句子所传达的信息。
