医学文章阅读——Postoperative Hemorrhage

Postoperative hemorrhage is any postoperative bleeding event that requires treatment. The majority of such cases require resuturing of the vaginal cuff or vascular pedicles. Postoperative hemorrhage can be divided into hemorrhage occurring early (less than 48 hours after surgery) and late (greater than 18 hours after surgery). These entities apparently occur with relatively equal frequency. As mentioned previously, hemorrhage occurs more commonly in VH as opposed to AH.

The CREST study reported postoperative hemorrhage as complicating 1.9% of VH cases as opposed to 1.6% of AH cases. Amerikia, in a large study published in 1978, reported rates for postoperative hemorrhage of 0.9 and 2.6% for AH and VH, rеspectively. Neither study separated early from late postoperative hemorrhage. These rates have proven quite durable and have not changed significantly in the past 15 years. The rates of early and late postoperative hemorrhage for LH have been reported as 0.21% and 0.50 %, respectively.
