英语句子里某个成分或从句，在意思上用来补充或附加说明某一成分，用作注释语，那就可以采取加括号或破折号的译法。因为这种译法会使译文的意f和文句产生不连 贯的毛病，所以就要小心釆用，免得把原意中断。
例句：
1. But continuous lying in the mind, a disease to which the Anglo-Saxon is peculiarly exposed，leads to the destruction of human thought and character.
但是不断地在思想上撒谎（这是盎格鲁撒克逊人特别容易染上的毛病）却终将导致人的思想和性格的毁灭！
2. As they grow old, people also accumulate belongings for two other reasons, lack of physical and mental energy，both of which are essential in turning out and throwing away , and sentiment.
