激光(light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation, LASER) 广泛应用于眼科临床治疗。其中治疗青光眼的包括激光虹膜周边切除术(laser peripherial iridectomy, LPI)、激光房角成形术(laser gonioplasty)、激光小梁成形术(laser trabeculoplasty)、激光滤过手术(laser filtration surgery)、睫状体光凝术(cyclophotocoagulation)。眼底病常用的激光治疗模式有:全视网膜光凝(panretinal photocoagulation)、病变区域的散播光凝和条栅光凝、微动脉瘤和眼内肿瘤的直接光凝、视网膜裂孔的封闭。屈光不正的矫治有准分子激光角膜表面切除术(photorefractive keratectomy ,PRK)、准分子激光原位角膜磨镶术(laser in situ keratomileusis, LASIK)、准分子激光上皮下角膜磨镶术(laser-assisted subepithelial keratomileusis, LASEK)、激光角膜热成形术(laser thermal keratoplasty)。

* irid-(虹膜)+-ectomy(切除术)→iridectomy(虹膜切除术);kerato-(角膜的・前缀),keratectomy(角膜表面切削术)。
* gonio-(角)+ plasty(成形术、整形术、整复术)→gonioplasty(前房角成形术)；trabeculo-(小梁的前缀)，如 trabeculoplasty(小梁成形术)，kerato-(角膜的前缀)，如 keratoplasty(角膜成形术)。
* filtration n. [滤过、过滤、滤光(作用)]，如 double filtration[双重过滤法(透)]。
* cyclo-(睫状体)+photo-(光)+coagulation(凝固、凝结)→cyclophotocoagulation(睫状体光凝术)。
* keratomileusis n. 是屈光性角膜移植术、屈光性角膜成形术、角膜磨镶术的意思。
