The wrist includes the distal radius and ulna and eight small carpal bones (Fig. 1). At the wrist, identify the bony tips of the radius and the ulna.
Identify the carpal bones distal to the wrist joint, each of the five metacarpals, and the proximal, middle, and distal phalanges.
Note that the thumb has only two phalanges.
