that作为连词是科技英语中使用最广泛、出现频率最高的连词之一，主要有以下几种译法：
1. 引导名词性从句
that作为从属连词，可以引导名词性从句，即主语从句、表语从句、宾语从句以及同位语从句，而that在这些从句中没有具体含义，只是起连接作用，故在翻译这些从句时，that通常省略不译。
* It is recommended that a gauging with GO screw caliper gages should be supplemented by with the GO screw ring gage.
我们建议用通端螺纹卡规测量时，应当用通端螺纹环规来补充。（that引导主语从句）
* Whenever we can see that a body has the ability to do work we say that the body possesses energy.
每当我们看到物体有做功的能力时，我们可以说该物体具有能量。（that引导宾语从句）
* One advantage of this car is that it has very low fuel consumption.
这种汽车的一个优点是它的耗油量极低。（that引导表语从句）
* Study of the sun has led astrophysicists to the conclusion that fusion between hydrogen nuclei is the source of the sun's energy.
对太阳的研究使天体物理学家得出结论：氢原子核之间的聚变是太阳能的来源。(that 引导同位语从句）
2. 引导定语从句
that在引导定语从句时作关系代词，并在从句中充当某一成分。that主要引导限制性定语从句。如果定语从句不长的话，一般都将定语从句译为“的”字结构，作先行词的前置定语。如果定语从句较长，常常把定语从句译为ー个并列分句或转译为其他状语从句。
