汉语中有一些典型句式，如“以......为核心”、“围绕......这个核心问题”、“从......入手”、“在深入分析......的基础上”、“存在......问题”、“以......为例”。如果将这些句式直接翻译为英语，会使英语不堪重负。译者应当尽量抛弃这些句式，用简单的动词结构翻译出原文的实质含义。例如：

针对这些问题，本文以某士官学校的实践为例，充分借鉴我国军事文化对思想政治教育积极作用的经验，提出积极培育符合士官特点具有时代特色的士官文化精神、充分营造有利于士官心理积极发展的士官文化环境和大力开发内容丰富的士官文化资源三个方面具体策略。
原译:

改译:
A certain NCO training academy is used as a case study to look into how China's military culture has positively affected ethical and political education; and on this basis, I propose a new concept for NCO training, one that actively fosters a special NCO spirit in line with the times, that builds an environment for personal psychological growth, and that draws upon varied resources to enrich the culture itself.
常见的句式还有：坚持......的原则，采取......办法，处于......状态，发挥......功能，起到.....作用，实现.....目标，完成......的任务，遵守(采取、坚持)......方针(政策)，实施......战略，采取......态度，出现......现象，处于......局面，以......为中心，以......为纲，以......为龙头，以为......龙尾，以......为两翼，以......为中心，以......为依托，以......为纽带，等等。这些句式，英文都不一定翻译出来。
