(1) the company one keeps 经常与之为伍的人；伙伴
You may know a man by the company he keeps.

(2) in company 当着别人的面
It's bad manners to whisper in company.
当着别人窃窃私语是不礼貌的行为。
(3) in company with (sb.) 和（某人）一起
I, in company with many others, feel this decision was wrong.
我，还有许多人，都觉得这个决定是错误的。
(4) compare notes (with sb.)（与某人）交换意见；观点；看法
We saw the play separately and compared notes (with each other).
我们各自看了那出戏，后来（互相）交换了意见。
(5) in all conscience 当然；的确；凭良心
You cannot in all conscience regard that an fair pay.
你在良心上总不能认为那样的报酬算是合理的吧。
(6) conspicuous by one's absence 因该到场而未到场而引人注意
When it came to cleaning up afterwards, the boys were conspicuous by their absence.
后来轮到做卫生时，这些男孩却不在场，因而引起大家注意。
(7) beneath contempt 不齿
Such conduct is beneath contermpt.
这种行为为人所不齿。
(8) be under contract (to sb.) 立约（为某人）工作
The pop group is under contract to one of the big record companies.
这支流行音乐乐队与一家大唱片公司签有合同。
(9) put sth. out to contract 请人承包工作、供货等
We haven't the resources to do the work ourselves, so we'll put it to contract.
我们自己无法做这项工作，所以要承包出去。
(10) cook sb.'s goose 使某人彻底失败
When the police found his fingerprints, he knew his goose was cooked.
警方发现了他的指纹，他意识到自己已经完了。
