Dynamic Localization Tools
2023-03-01 09:27:23    etogether.net    网络

A dynamic localization tool is a software program that translates the user interface of an application on-the-fly, while it is running. Translations are entered in dictionaries that are used to dynamically translate the interface components of specified applications, such as dialog boxes, menus, and strings.

1. JARGON

Jargon is a dynamic localization utility that works by matching text used in application user interface controls (menus, buttons, list boxes, etc.) with texts found in its Phrasebooks. The Phrasebooks contain foreign language translations of the text used by applications and system menus or buttons such as Cancel, Apply, and OK.

The source code of the application remains unchanged. You can use the Phrasebook Editor to customize Phrasebooks for an application, and to add translations. If the phrase is not found in one of the Phrasebooks, it is displayed in the source language.

You can set the elements of the user interface to be translated, as well as the source and target languages, in the Translation Defaults dialog box. When using Jargon's Discovery mode, all user interface strings that are not found in one of the Phrasebooks

are automatically entered in a Phrasebook for translation.
