(四）方式状语从句的转换
由as引导的某些方式状语从句，出于汉语表达的需要，往往可以转换成定语从句的形式译出。例如：
9. It was then that scientists discovered the great value of penicillin as we know it today.
正是在那时，科学家们才发现了如今所知的青霉素的巨大价值。
10. The metala as they are discussed in Lesson Two are not pure metals but alloys.
第二课讨论的那些金属并不是纯金属，而是合金。
11. Iron as it comes from the blast furnace contains impurities.
从高炉炼出来的铁含有杂质。
