四、和主句合译成简单句
为了使译文简捷明快、结构紧凑，英语的某些复合句可以含译成汉语的简单句。主语从句当然也不例外。这样译时，可把从句或主句压缩为简单句中的一个成分。试看以下各例。
10) That he will refuse the offer is unlikely.
他不大可能拒绝这个提议。
11) That the vitamin is sensitive to light was recognized only later.
维生素的光敏特性只是后来才为人们所认识。
12) When the new power station will be put into operation has not been decided.
新电站投入运行的时间尚未确定。
