英语句子主语的语序在翻译时一般是不需要改变的，可仍译在与原文相应的位置上。例如：
1) In Central Europe, direct fire weapons systems have a significant disadvantage.
在中欧地区，直接射击武器具有明显的缺点。
2) People of one race are born with certain similar features, such as colour of skin，shape of head，and type of hair.
同一人种的人生来就有一些相似的特点，如肤色、头型和发式。
但是，在少数情况下，需要改变原文主语的语序。
（1）在英语疑问句中，主语通常位于谓语的一部分之后。汉译时应把主语前移。例如：
3) Do women live longer than men?
妇女比男人长寿吗？
4) Why should we be spending huge sums on trips to outer space?
我们为什么要化费巨额资金去遨游太空呢？
5) What is a comet made of?
慧星是由什么构成的？
6) Hovv will human cells divide in zero gravity?
人的细胞在失重状态下如何分裂？
(2) 在以it作形式主语的句子中，作实际主语的动词不定式短语或动名同短语位于谓语之后。翻译时应将it减去不译而把实际主语译在谓语之前。例如：
7) It will take some time to weld all the stainless steel plates.
把这些不锈钢扳焊起来得化费点时间。
8) It is not a simple operation for high voltage lines to be checked or repaired.
检修高压线路不是简单的作业。
