一旦辅助细胞遭到破坏，免疫系统就不再能防御疾病。 (同上）
12. The desert animals can hide themselves from the heat during the daytime.
沙漠中的动物能够躲避白天的炎热.（反身代词themselve 减译）。
在实际翻译中，出于汉语表达上的需要；在保证译文明确的情况下，也可以减译另外一些代词。例如；
13. One cannot see becteria with one's naked eyes.
人们不能用肉眼看到细菌。（不定代词one的所有格形式one's减译）
14. If one halves a bar magnet, each of the two halves will be a complete magnet.
如果把一根磁铁棒分成两段，那么其中每一段都仍是完整的磁铁。（不定代词one减译）
15. The spider poisons the insects that it catches, and then sucks their juices.
蜘蛛把捉到的小虫子毒死，然后吸吮其体液。（关系代词that减译）
16. Computers can do things which seem like thinking.
计算机能完成酷似思维的工作。（关系代词Which减译）
