c. The consignor and consignee hope to put an end to their dispute as early as possible.
收、发货人双方都希望尽早结束他们之间的争议。（比较：……尽早把……结束掉。）
汉译英时也常用这种办法来处理，例如：
请谅解，我们目前无法满足你们的要求。
Please give us your understanding. At present, we are unable to meet your request.
(三）包括动作名词的介词短语
此种短语可以译成动词或句子，例如：
a. A bill of lading is a symbol of goods on board.
提单表明货物巳经装上了船。（译成动词作谓语）
b. On receipt of your cable confirmation, we shall make payment to the beneficiary.
我们一收到你们的电文证实书就把款付给受益人。 (译成动词作谓语）
汉译英时常常用介词短语代替分句，特别是口语和演讲稿中，例如：
我们查了查记录，发现上述一笔金额早在1991年4月30日就已贷记你帐。
After checking our record, we find that the above-mentioned amount was credited to your account as early as April 30，1991.
(四）抽象名词译成形容词
有些抽象名词必须译成形容词作补语，否则就不符合汉语习惯，例如：
a. Simplicity of documentation and issuing procedures allows access to the bond market regularly and short notice. (抽象名词短语作主语)
文书工作和发行手续都很筒单（译成形容词作补语），这便于人们经常地进入债权市场并只要短期通 知即可。 (不能译成：文书工作和债权市场手续的简单让人们便于……)
