一. 特殊疑问句
英语的特殊疑问句的结构有两种:一种是陈述句的语序，另一种是疑问词加一般疑问句。不管哪一种结构，这种疑问句通常也应先译主语，因为汉语的表达习惯往往是先把主语提出来，然后加以叙述。在译句末有时可以加个语气助词“呢”来表示疑问语气。
例句：
1. Who is this young man?
这个年轻人是谁？
2. Who is climbing the tree?
谁在爬树呢？
3. Whose shirt is that?
那是谁的衬衫？
4. What is she doing?
她在干什么？
5. Where's Sally，Jack?
杰克，萨莉在哪里？
6. How does the integrated circuit get its name?
集成电路是怎样得名的？
7. Where do you come from?
您从哪里来？
8. Just how fast does sound travel through the air?
声音在空气中的传播速度究竟有多快呢？
9. Why does the idea of progress loom so large in the modern world?
进步这个思想为什么在现代世界上显得这样了不起呢？
10. Which picture is more expensive?
哪一幅画比较昂贵呢？
11. How many students are there in the classroom?
这个课室有多少学生？
二. 选择疑问句
英语在选择疑问句中所提示并列的两个或三个项目之间用连词or连接。这种疑问句的译法和一般疑问句或特殊疑问句相同，但要译成“……还是(或者是）……”的句式。译文的句末可以加上语气助词“呢”来表示疑问语气。
例句：
11. Which is better, apple or banana?
哪一样好些:苹果或者香蕉？
12. Is it cold or warm in autumn here?
这里的秋天是寒冷的还是暖和的？
13. Will you travel by sea or by air?
你们将乘船还是乘飞机去旅行呢？
14. Shall I go or will you go yourself?
我去还是你自己去？
15. Are you going to the cinema，or to the theatre，or to the dance tonight?
你今晚打算去看电影、看戏、还是去跳舞呢？
16. What is she，doctor or nurse，or both?
她是什么人，是医生还是护士，或者两者都是？
