通顺规范就是要译文语言通俗易懂。符合工程技术语言的表达规范，不能逐词死译，硬译造成语言晦涩难懂，结构混乱,逻辑不清等。工程技术英语具有很强的专业性术语、行话或者套话,还有许多非语言信息，例如图表、公式、格式等，因此语言转换既要符合技术语言的国际规范，还要符合目标语的行业规范,实现工程技术翻译的语言共通、合乎规范。语言表达要通顺、易懂，逻辑顺序符合目标语表达习惯，避免逻辑语义含糊不清，意义传递不到位或者缺失。
(1) At times they may find relief by hunting big game in Africa, or by flying round the world fly, but the number of such sensations is limited especially after youth is past.
译文：有时他们通过在非洲进行大型狩猎或作环球飞行寻求解脱，但是这样轰轰烈烈的事情毕竟有限，特别是青年时代过去后,这种轰轰烈烈的事情就更少了。
(2) Various attempts were made to calculate levels on this basis, with only very limited success, About 1925 the new quantum theory originated and gave immediate and continued success in the mathematical solution of this problem.
译文：在这个基础上，人们为计算能级做了各种努力，但收效甚微。大约在1925年，新的量子理论产生了，并在求得这个问题的数学解答方面立见功效，且不断有所成就。
(3) In practice, the selected interval thickness is usually a compromise between the need for a thin interval to maximise the resolution and a thick interval to minimise the error.
译文：为保证最大分辨率必须选用薄层，为使误差最小却须选用厚层，实际上通常选择介于两者之间的最佳厚度。
(4) For the moment, drilling has stopped. One of the propulsion motors that controls the automatic thrusters has malfunctioned.
译文：这时，钻探停下了。原来有一台控制自动推冲器的马达出了故障。
(5) After the bricks are pressed they may be cooled for storage of taken directly to ovens for tempering. Tempering of the pitch-bonded brick has been found to improve several brick characteristics.
译文：沥青结合砖成型后冷却入库，或径送轻烧窑轻烧。这种砖经过轻烧后，砖的不少性能都得到改善。
