十六、under的译法
1. 表示位置，可译为“在……下（面)”等。如：
* About a minute later, the sound is picked up by a microphone suspended under the receiving ship.
约一分钟后，吊在接收船下的传声器收听到这一声音。
2. 表示依据，可译为“根据”、“按照”等。如：
* Under the general theory of relativity, motion through time becomes very intimately related to motion through space.
根据广义相对论，时间运动与空间运动两者密切相关。
3. 表示过程、状态，可译为“在……中”、“在…期间”等。如：
* On a four-speed box the bearings are under load 25% of the time.
四档变速箱的轴承有25%的时间受载。
十七、with的译法
1. 表示两种事物或人的相互关系，可译为“与”、“和……一起”、“随着”等。如:
Standard shanks can be used interchangeably with other reamer shell.
标准刀柄可与其他绞刀套互換使用。
2. 表示附着关系，可译为“具有”、“带有”等，也可以省译。如：
* The chief problem with brush-type motors is the low reliability of the commutator- and-brush assembly.
电刷型电动机的主要问题是换向器-电刷组合体的可靠性低。（省译了 with）
