例1:肝肾之间关系极为密切，有“肝肾同源”之说。肝藏血， 肾藏精，藏精与藏血之间的关系，实际上即是精和血之间存在着相互滋生和相互转化的关系。血的化生，有赖于肾中精气的气化； 肾中精气的充盛，亦有赖于血液的滋养。所以说精能生血，血能化精，称之为“精血同源”在病理上，稍与血的病变亦常相互影响。如肾精亏损，可导致肝血不足；反之，肝血不足，也可引起肾精亏损。
The liver and kidney are closely interrelated and, just as is said, share the same origin. The liver stores blood and the kidney the essence. The storage of blood and essence demonstrates the mutual promoting and transforming relation between the blood and essence. The generation of blood depends on the qi activity of renal essence, and in turn, the abundance of renal essence also relys on the nourishment of blood. That's the gist of essence generating blood and blood transforming essence (also known as“essence and blood share the same origin"). Pathologically, the disorder of essence or blood can also affect the other. For instance, the loss of renal essence can result in the loss of the liver blood, while the deficiency of liver blood can also lead to that of renal essence.
译文说明：
(1)原文中出现了三个“关系”，翻译时可根据其语义的实际从实而译，不一定见“关系”便译作relationship。译文在处理这 一问题时采用了省、变、简等三种不同手法，
“肝肾之间关系极为密切”译作liver and kidney are closely interrelated就是采用的“变”法将“关系”译作interrelated，很简洁。
“藏精与藏血之间的关系”译作The storage of essence and blood，省略掉了“关系”。这种省略只是字而上的，其意义和作用并未省略掉，而是融入了and —词之中。事实上在英语中，and — 词的意义往往相当于中文的“关系”。在中文中使用“关系” 一词时，英语中常使用and来表示。请看以下二例：

“相互滋生与相与转化的关系”译作mutual promoting and transforming relatione “关系”译为relation采用的是简译法，因为常规的译法是relationship。这里只所以将“关系”译出，主要考虑到“关系”在此的意义是实际的，是有所强调的，因此予以实译。relation的语义具体，而relationship则较为抽象，所以译文选用了前者，意在强调其具体性和实在性。
