中国古代文学是中国古代文化最具活力，影响最大，层次最高的精神财富。文学是一种精神创作，源于生活，又高于生活。中国古代文学反映了华夏社会的历史实践、思想嬗变与感情变迀。中国古代文学分先秦、秦汉、魏晋南北、隋唐五代、宋辽元金、明清，六个发展阶段。下面仅仅举一些常见的代表作品的名称翻译为例。
