一般说来，常见的典故除外，四字结构翻译的原则应是能直译全直译，要不就只好变通翻译。如：
相形见拙 pale by comparison
如胶似漆 dote un each other
倚天插云 piercing the clouds
相映成趣 form a delightful contrast
相得益彰 bring out the best m each other
相辅相成 supplement each other (coordinate)
赤手空拳 barehanded (without any weapon)
