中国谚语英译之分析

在①句中用 The philosopher’s stone 来说明它 turns all it touches into gold.而 Content is the philosopher's stone。故而两者有共同之处。在②句中，一般来说，A King is a ruler who can have everything he wants,but content is more than a kingdom.
C. 含有对比手法的句子例如：Content makes poor men rich; discontent makes rich men poor.在此句中，content 与 discontent；poor 与rich及rich与poor进行对比，平行结构，但词义相反。
其余的例子：①He is rich that has few wants. ②He is rich enough that wants nothing.
最后是英美文化对谚语产生的影响。英语和汉语是两神不同 的语言和文化，每种文化对谚语及其表达产生很大影响。
再则在汉语表达上，此句并没有提到具体的人或谁，而英语表达中却多次出现了 He，one和man等词做主语，而且用He而不是she，这种体现了英语语言文化的待点。
