机场建设过程中，有70多名萨摩亚工人与中国的专家和工人一起为新机场建设付出了辛勤的汗水。萨摩亚企业为机场工程提供了原材料和工程设备，直接参与部分设施建设，与上海建工通力协作，实现互利共赢。
I would also like to mention that there have been more than 70 Samoan workers who have worked together with their Chinese counterparts during all these two years on each sunny and rainy day. Without the concerted efforts of both Chinese and Samoan workers, it will be impossible to build such a magnificent building.

多年来，中国在充分尊重萨摩亚政府和人民意愿、充分考虑萨摩亚发展实际需要的基础上，向萨摩亚提供了力所能及、不附带任何政治条件的援助，这些援助涉及经济、教育、卫生、体育、文化、旅游、青年、环保等诸多领域，有力促进了当地经济社会发展，造福了萨摩亚民众，受到萨政府和社会各界的热烈欢迎和高度评价。
2013年，中国国家主席习近平提出了“丝绸之路经济带和21世纪海上丝绸之路”倡议。5年来，已经有80多个国家和国际组织同中国签署了“一带一路”合作协议。我们期待与萨方携手同行，在两国领导人的英明指引下，共同建设“一带一路”宏伟蓝图，在坚持共商、共建、共享原则的基础上，实现“政策沟通、设施联通、贸易畅通、资金融通、民心相通”，共同构建中萨命运共同体，共同造福于两国人民，共同创造两国更加美好的明天！

Over the past decades, on the basis of full respect for the will of the Samoan government and people for the social and economic development in Samoa, China has provided assistance to Samoa in various fields. All the assistance has been welcomed and has been highly appreciated by Samoa.
In 2013, China's President Xi Jinping put forward the One Belt One Road Initiative. Up to now, over 80 countries and international organizations have signed cooperation agreements with China. The cooperation in the field of infrastructure development has been one of the most important priorities of the Initiative. Many countries have benefit greatly from this Initiative. We look forward to more cooperation with Samoa in the framework of the One Belt One Road Initiative so that there will be more and more infrastructure projects like this beautiful airport in the future, which will contribute to the economic and social development of Samoa and bring more tangible benefits to the well being of the people of Samoa.
