6. 介词短语的翻译
信用证常使用简单的介词结构取代复杂的从句，体现出这种文本的简洁、正式的特点。翻译时可将介词结构转换为从句结构表达出来。
例8 Upon presentation of the documents to us，we shall authorize your headoffice backing department by airmail to debit the proceeds to our foreign business department account.
译文:一旦向我行提交单证，我行将用航空邮件授权你总行借记我行国外营业部账户。
例 9 On receipt of the required documents which comply with the terms of this credit,we will remit proceeds in accordance with your instructions.
译文:当收到该证项下相符的单据时，我(开证行)将按贵行指令付保证金。
7. 表示单据份数词汇的翻译
信用证中对单据份数有其特定的表示方法。在翻译信用证份数时，我们应遵循其习惯。
7.1份数表示法
in triplicate 一式三份 in quintuplicate 一式五份 in septuplicate 一式七份 in nonuplicate 一式九份
in duplicate 一式两份 in quadruplicate —式四份 in sextuplicate 一式六份 in octuplicate 一式八份
in decuplicate 一式十份
7.2数字表示法
信用证中单据的份数也可以用分数来表示：分母为所出单据的总份数，分子为有关所需单据的份数。
例 10 1/3 original B/L must be sent to the opener by airmail.
译文:三份正本提单中的一份必须通过航空件寄给开证人。
8. bona fide holders
bona fide holder实际指的是外贸业务中汇票或提单等票据的合法持有者， 它的意思“善意持有人”。即议付单据的持有者或受让人。bona fide本是拉丁语词，意思是“真的，真诚的”。
例 11 This documentary credit is available for negotiation to pay without specific restriction to drawers or bone fide holders.
译文：本跟单信用证对出票人或善意持票人不限制议付。
