(On the Cavity of the Bone)
黄帝问日:余闻风者百病之始也，以针治之奈何?岐伯对日:风从外入，令人振寒，汗出头痛，身重恶[《太素》《骨空》“恶”下有“风”字]寒，治在风府，调其阴阳，不足则补，有余则写。
Yellow Emperor asked: "I am told that the wind-evil is the source of all diseases, what method should be applied when treating with acupuncture?" Qibo answered: "When the wind-evil invades the body, it causes the patient to have cold shiverings, perspiration, headache, the feeling of heaviness in the body and have the aversion to wind. When treating, the Fengfu point (DU.16) should be pricked to adjust the Yin and Yang. If the patient's healthy energy is insufficient, the invigorating method should be applied, if the evil-energy is having a surplus, the purging method should be applied.
大风颈项痛，刺风府，风府在上椎;大风汗出，灸譩譆，譩譆在背下侠脊傍三寸所，厌之，令病者呼譩譆，譩譆应手。
"If a greater wind-evil is contracted and the neck is painful, the Fengfu point which is on the first cervical vertebra should be pricked. If a greater wind-evil is contracted and the patient is sweating, prick the Yixi point (BL. 45) which is three inches beside the sixth vertebra of the spine on the back, when the point is pressed by fingers, the patient will feel painful and cry out the sound of Yixi, and by this time, the physician will feel the bouncing of pulse under the fingers.
从风憎风，刺眉头。失枕，在肩上[《太素》“上”下有“之”字，按“在”上疑脱“诒”字]，横骨间。折，使榆[“榆”《太素》吴本作“揄”]臂，齐肘正，灸脊中。
"To the patient who has aversion to the braving of wind, the Chanzhu point (BL.2) in the brow should be pricked.
"To the syndrome of pain in the neck, the points on the transverse of the shoulder should be pricked. When the arm is painful like being broken, ask the patient to stretch his hands by the two sides first, and then apply moxibustion to the central part in the middle of the connecting line on the back between the two elbows.
䏚络季胁引少腹而痛胀，刺譩譆。
"When the lower abdomen is drawn by the insubstantial and soft part under the hypochondrium with pain, the Yixi point should be pricked.
腰痛不可以转摇，急引阴卵，刺八髎与痛上，八髎在腰髎分间。
"When the lumbago causes the patient unable to turn aside or sway, and his testes become uncomfortable when the pain is severe, the four liao-points and the site of pain should be pricked. The shangliao point (BL.31) is the first sacral foramen which is one inch beside the eighteenth vertebra, the Ciliao point (BL.32) is the second sacral foramen which is eight fen beside the nineteenth vertebra, the Zhongliao point (BL.33) is the third sacral foramen which is seven fen beside the twentieth vertebra, and Xialiao point (BL.34) is the fourth sacral foramen which is six fen beside the twenty-first vertebra. The liao-points amount to eight points on the left and right sides.
鼠瘘，寒热，还刺寒府，寒府在[《太素》“在”下无“附”字]附膝外解营，取膝上外者使之拜，取足心者使之跪。
"When scrofula is contracted, the patient will have chillness and fever, the Hanfu point (Xiyangguan GB. 33) which is in the seam of the bone beside the knee cap should be pricked. When pricking the points in the outer flank of the knee, the patient should make the posture of bowing; when pricking the Yongquan point (KI.1) which is on the sole of foot, the patient should make the posture of kneeling.
任脉者，起于中极之下，以上毛际，循腹里上关元，至咽喉，上颐循面入目。冲脉者，起于气街，并少阴[《甲乙》“少阴”作“阳明”]之经，侠齐上行，至胸中而散。任脉为病，男子内结七疝，妇子带下[《难经・二十九难》“带下”作“为”]瘕聚。冲脉为病，逆气里急。
"The Ren Channel starts from the Huiyin point (RN.1) between the external genitals and the anus and ascends to the suprapubic hair margin and then ascends along the middle line of the abdomen (the white line of the abdomen) to the Guanyuan point (one inch above the Zhongji point), upper part of the abdomen, the chest, throat and cheek to the lower gum by passing the Chengjiang point, and finally reaches the Chengqi point (ST.1) below the eye.
"The Chong Channel starts from the Qijie point (Qichong ST.30) which is parallel to the Yangming Channel, advancing along the left and right sides of the navel, and scatters when reaching the middle of the chest.
"When there is pathologic change in the Ren Channel, a man will contract the seven kinds of hernia in the abdomen, a woman will contract the abdominal mass. When there is pathologic change in the Chong Channel, the vital energy will reverse up and cause pain of the abdomen.
