帝曰:逆四时而生乱气奈何?岐伯日:春刺络脉，血气外溢，令人少气;春刺肌肉，血气环逆，令人上气;春刺筋骨，血气内著，令人腹胀。夏刺经脉，血气乃竭，令人解休[《诊要经络论》林校引本句“休”作“堕”，“堕”系“惰”之借字，“解俅”即“解隋”];夏刺肌肉，血气内却，令人善恐;夏刺筋骨，血气上逆，令人善怒。秋刺经脉，血气上逆，令人善忘;秋刺络脉，气不外行[林校引全元起本作“气不卫外”]，令人卧不欲动;秋刺筋骨，血气内散，令人寒傈。冬刺经脉，血气皆脱，令人目不明;冬刺络脉，内[“内”是“血”之误字]气外泄，留为大痹;冬刺肌肉，阳气竭绝，令人善忘[林校引作“善渴”]。凡此四时刺者，大逆之病[林校引全元起本作“六经之病”]，不可不从也，反之，则生乱气相淫病焉。故刺不知四时之经，病之所生，以从为逆，正气内乱，与精相薄。必审九候。正气不乱，精气不转。
Yellow Emperor said:"What is the conditon when the blood and energy become disorderly and when violating the law of the seasonal weather change in treating?" Qibo said: "The energy of spring is in the channel, if the collateral is pricked in spring, the blood and the energy will be overflowing outside to cause short of breath of the patient; if the muscle is pricked in spring, the blood and energy will circulate disorderly to cause rapid breathing of the patient; if the tendon and bone are pricked in spring, the blood and energy will be retained inside to cause abdominal distention of the patient. The energy of summer is in the minute collaterals. if the channel is pricked in summer, the blood and energy will be exhausted to cause fatigue of the patient; if the muscle is pricked in summer, the blood and energy will be shut inside, the Yang energy will be obstructed to cause one apt to become terrified; if the tendon and bone are pricked in summer, the blood and energy will be reversing up
to cause one apt to get angry. The energy of autumn is in the skin, if the channel is pricked in autumn, the blood and energy will be reversing up causing one to have amnesia; if the collateral is pricked in autumm, the energy will become deficient and fail to guard outside, the patient will have lethargy and reluctant to move about; if the tendon and bone are pricked in
autumm, the energy and blood will become disorderly inside to cause shivering with cold of the patient. The energy of winter is in the bone marrow, if the channel is pricked in winter, the patient will have blurred vision and prostration due to the debility of energy and blood; if the collateral is pricked in winter, the blood and energy will be excreted outside to cause the
deficiency of visceral energy and the evil-energy stagnated in the five viscera; if the muscle is pricked in winter the Yang energy will be exhausted to cause thirsty of the patient. These various contraindications in pricking related to the four seasons must be followed when treating the diseases of all the six channels. If they are violated, the disorderly energy will produce, and the unchecked disorderly energy will cause the disease to turn to the worse. Thus, when one knows not the location of the channel energy of the four seasons and the condition of the disease's incidence, taking the agreeable condition as the adverse condition, it will cause the healthy energy to become confused inside, and the evil-energy to combat with the
healthy energy. Therefore, in diagnosis, one must inspect the pulse condition of the three parts and the nine sub-parts of the pulse condition so that the healthy energy may not be confused, and the healthy energy may not combat with the evil-energy.”
帝日:善。刺五藏，中心一日死，其动为噫;中肝五日死，其动为语[林校引《甲乙》“语”作“欠”];中肺三日死，其动为咳;中肾六日死，其动为嚏欠[林校引《甲乙》无“欠”字];中脾十日死，其动为吞。刺伤人五藏必死，其动则依其藏之所变候知其死也。
Yellow Emperor said: "Good. In pricking the five viscera, when the heart is hit, the patient will die in one day, its syndrome of the affection is eructation; when the liver is hit, the patient will die in five days, its syndrome of the affection is yawning; if the lung is hit, the patient will die in three days, its syndrome of the affecton is coughing; if the kidney is hit, the patient will die in six days, its syndrome of the affection is frequent sneezing; when the spleen is hit the patient will die in ten days, its syndrome of the affection is swallowing. In a word, when one of the five viscera is injured by pricking, the patieet will surely die. The
syndrome of afection indicates which viscus is injured, and the date of the patient's death can be known also."
