(The Forbiden Positions in Pricking)
黄帝问日:愿闻禁数，岐伯对日:藏有要害，不可不察，肝生于左，肺藏于右，心部于表，肾治[《云笈七签》“治”作“位”]于里，脾为[赵本，吴本“为”并作“谓”]之使，胃为之市，鬲育之上，中有父母，七节之傍，中有小[《太素》《甲乙》“小”并作“志”]心，从之有福，逆之有咎。
Yellow Emperor said: "I hope you can tell me the forbiden positions in pricking." Qibo said: "In the five viscera, they all have vital parts which one must pay attention to. The liver is on the left side; the lung is on the right side; the heart takes charge of the exterior of the body; the kidney controls the interior of the body; the spleen transports the refined substances of water and cereasls to various viscera like a servant; the stomach accommodates water and cereals like a market; above the diaphram, there is the sea of energy which maintains the life, and by the side of the seventh vertebra is the refined substance of kidney.
When pricking, one must adhere to the rules of acupuncture so as to obtain the curative effect. If the rules are violated, the pricking will be erroneous.
刺[《太平圣惠方》“刺”下有“若”字]中心，一日死，其动为噫。刺中肝，五日死，其动为语[《甲乙》“语”作“欠”]。刺中肾，六[《诊要经终论》“六”作“七”]日死，其动为嚏。刺中肺，三日[《诊要经终论》“三”作“五”]死，其动为咳。刺中脾，十[《诊要经终论》“十”作“五”]日死，其动为吞。刺中胆，一日半死，其动为呕。
"If the heart is hurt by pricking erroneously, the patient will die in one day, and its allergic reaction os eructation.
"If the liver is hurt erroneously, the patient will die in five days, and its allergic reaction is yawning
"If the kidney is hurt erroneously, the patient will die in seven days, and the allergic reaction is sneezing
"If the lung is hurt erroneously, the patient will die in five days, and its allergic reaction is coughing
"If the spleen is hurt erroneously, the patient will die in five days, and its allergic reaction is swallowing.
"If the gallbladder is hurt erroneously, the patient will die in one and half days, and its allergic reaction is vomiting.
刺跗上，中大脉，血出不止死。刺面，中溜脉，不幸为盲。刺头，中脑户，入脑[《圣济总录》引无“入脑”二字]立死。刺舌下，中脉太过，血出不止为瘠。刺足下布络中脉，血不出为肿。刺郄中[《“郄中”下脱“中”字》]大脉，令人仆脱色。刺气街中脉，血不出为肿，鼠仆[《千金》《圣济总录》“仆”并作“蹊”，模骨尽处去中行五寸，有肉核名鼠鼷]。刺脊间中髓，为伛。刺乳上，中乳房，为肿，根蚀。刺缺盆中内陷，气泄，令人喘[《医心方》引“喘”下无“咳”字]咳逆。刺手鱼腹内陷，为肿。
"When pricking the dorsum of the foot, if the artery of the eminent head of the radius is hurt erroneously, the patient will bleed continuously and die.
"When pricking the face, if the vessels connecting the eyes are pricked erreneously, it will cause the patient to become blind.
"When pricking the head, if the Naohu point (Brain Window DU 17) is hurt erroneously, the patient will die immediately.
"When pricking the Lianquan point (Tongue Spring CV (RN) 23) under the tongue, if the channel is pricked too deeply, the continuous bleeding will cause dysphonia of the patient.
"When the spreading collaterals under the foot are hurt by pricking, the blood will be unable to come out and swelling will occur.
"When pricking the Weizhong point (Popliteal Centre BL. 41) too deeply and hurt the large vessel erroneously, it may cause the patient to faint with white complexion.
"When pricking the Qichong point (Rushing Energy ST. 30), if the channel is hurt erroneously, and the blood can not come out, the stagnated blood will cause swelling and pain of the muscle kernel by the pubic bone.
"When the spine marrow is hurt erroneously by pricking the spinal pace, hunchback of the patient will occur.
"When pricking the Ruzhong point (Breast Centre ST. 17), if the breast is hurt erroneously, it will swell and cause corrosive trauma.
When pricking the Quepen point (Supraclavicular Fossa ST. 12)too deeply to excrete the energy, it will cause dyspnea
"When pricking the muscle above the Yuji point (Thenar Prominence LU. 10) too deeply, it will cause swelling in a certain part of the body.
