帝日有病怒狂者，此病安生?岐伯目:生于阳也。帝日:阳何以使人狂?岐伯日:阳气者[《千金》“气”下无“者”字]，因暴折而难决，故善怒也，病名曰阳厥。帝曰:何以知之?岐伯曰:阳明者常动，巨阳少阳不动，不动而动大疾，此其候也。帝日:治之奈何?岐伯日:夺[《太素》、《甲乙》“夺”并作“衰”]其食即已，夫食入于阴，长气于阳，故夺其食即已。使之服以生铁洛[《太素》“洛”作“落”]为饮，夫生铁洛[作“落”]者，下气疾也。
Yellow Emperor asked:“There is a disease which causes one apt to be raved with fury, and how does it come about?" Qibo said: “It is due to the overabundance of the Yang energy." Yellow Emperor asked:“ Why can the Yang energy cause one to become mad?" Qibo said:“When the Yang energy meets with the setback suddenly and can not be dredged, it will cause one to get angry, and the disease is called the Yang-type Jue. ” Yellow Emperor asked: “ How can one know the disease is about to come about?” Qibo said: “ For a normal man, some points (such as Renying point) on the Yangming Channel pulsate prominantly, but some points on the Taiyang Channel (such as Tianchuang point S. I. 16) and on the Shaoyang Channel (such as Tianrong point S.I. 17) only pulsate faintly. If the pulse which should pulsate faintly becomes very rapidly all of a sudden, it is the syndrome of Yang type syncope and the patient is apt to get angry and become mad. ” Yellow Emperor asked: “ How
to treat it?” Qibo said:“ When his meals and food are reduced the disease can be revovered. When the food enters into the stomach, it will promote the Yang energy, so, when the food is reduced, the Yang energy will become declined, and the disease will be recovered. Besides, the patient can also take some soup of iron filings which has curable effect to the disease of the mania kind. "
帝曰:善。有病身热解堕[《政和经史证备用草本》引“身热”下有“者”字，“解堕”二字自为句]，汗出如浴，恶风少气，此为何病?岐伯曰:病名曰酒风。帝曰:治之奈何?岐伯曰:以泽泻、术各十分，麋衔五分，合，以三指撮，为后饭。
Yellow Emperor said; “ Good. Some people has fever all over the body, feeling tired in the extremities, sweating all over like taking a bath, has an aversion to wind and is short of breath, what is the disease?” Qibo said: “It is called the wind-evil syndrome due to drinking. ” Yellow Emperor asked: “ How to treat it?” Qibo said:“ Take the oriental water plan-
tain (Rhi-zoma Alismatis) and large-headed atractylodes (Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae) ten portions each, pyrola (Herba Pyrolae) five portions, mix and grind them into powder, and take the quantity which can be picked up with three fingers for each time before meal.
所谓深之细者，其中手如针也，摩之切之，聚者坚也，博[“博”疑误，似应作“搏”]者大也。《上经》者，言气之通天也;《下经》者言病之变化也;《金匮》者，决死生也;《揆度》者，切度之也;《奇恒》者，言奇病也。所谓奇者，使奇病不得以四时死也;恒者，得以四时死也，所谓揆者，方切求之也，言切求其脉理也[《太素》无“言切”以下七字];度者，得其病处，以四时度之也。
"The so called sunken and fine pulse is like needle when it responds to the fingers in palpation; when the pulse is concentrating and not dispersing after being pushed and pressed, it is the firm pulse; when the Yin and Yang are combating, it is the gigantic pulse.
"The《Upper Classics》is the book discussing the relation between the nature and the activities of human body; the《Lower Classics》is the book discussing the variations of diseases; the 《Golden Chamber》is the book discussing the diagnosis of diseases and the determinations of the survival and death of the patient; the《Observing and Judging》is the book discussing the determination of diseases according to the pulse condition from palpation; the《Extraordinary and Ordinary Diseases》is the book discussing and analysizing the abnormal diseases. The extraordinary diseases indicate the fatal discases which are not effected by the four seasons; the ordinary diseases indicate the fatal diseases which are effected by the weather change of the four seasons. 'Judge' indicates integrating the favourable and infavourable conditions of the four seasons to analyse the treating methods of the disease and determine the death or survival of the patient according to the result of the diagnosis."
