帝日:何以别之?岐伯日:肺热者色白而毛败，心热者色赤而络脉溢，肝热者色苍而爪枯，脾热者色黄而肉蜗动[《太平御览人事部》引“蠕动”作“輭”]，肾热者色黑而齿槁。
Yellow Emperor asked:"How to distinguish the five flaccidities?" Qibo said:"When the heat-evil is in the lung, the complexion of the patient is white and his hair is corrupted;
when the heat-evil is in the heart, his compexion is red and his minute collaterals are appearing; when the heat-evil is in the liver, his complexion is green and his nails are dry; when the heat-evil is in the spleen, his complexion is yellow and his muscle is soft; when the heat - evil is in the kidney, his complexion is black and his teeth are withered."
帝日;如夫子言可矣，论言治痿者独取阳明，何也?岐伯日:阳明者，五藏六府之海，主国[吴本，朝本“闰”作“润”]宗筋，宗筋主東骨[“宗筋”下有“者”字，“主束骨”作“束骨肉”]而利机关也。冲脉者，经脉之海也，主渗灌谿谷，与阳明合于宗筋，阴阳搀宗筋之会，会于气街，而阳明为之长，皆属于带脉，而络于督脉。故阳明虚则宗筋纵，带脉不引，故足痿不用也。
Yellow Emperor said: "What you have said is desirable. But, it is stated in the ancient books that when treating the flaccidity, it should treat the Yangming Channel alone, and why is it?"
Qibo said:"Yangming Channel is the source of the five solid and the six hollow organs, it nourishes the convergence of the tendons which control the bone and muscles and smooths the joints. The Chong Channel is the sourse of channels, it permeates and irrigates the striae of muscles. Both the Chong Channel and the Yangming Channel connect the tendons, and
both the Yin channels and the Yang channels are assembling with the convergence of tendons and get together again at the Qichong point (Rushing Energy 30). The Yangming Channel is their leader and they all related to the Belt Channel and connecting the Du Channel. Thus, when the Yangming Channel is insufficient, the convergence of the tendons will become flabby and thereby can not be controlled by the Belt Channel. As a result, the feet wilt become flaccid and unavailable."
帝曰:治之奈何?岐伯曰:各补其荥而通其俞，调其虚实，和其逆顺，筋、脉、骨、肉各以其时受月，则病已矣。帝曰:善。
Yellow Emperor asked:"How to treat it?" Qibo said:"It can be treated with invigorating the Xing-energy and dredging the Shu-energy to adjust the asthenic and sthenic, favourable and unfavourable conditions. Regardless of the tendon, channel, bone, or muscle, when it is treated in the month when the related visceral energy is prosperous, the disease may be cured." Yellow Emperor said: "Good".
