帝日:人有身体脾股骺皆肿，环齐而痛，是为何病?岐伯日:病名伏梁，此风根也。其气溢[《甲乙》校注引《素问》“溢”作“泄”]于大肠而著于育，育之原在齐下，故环齐而痛也，不可动之，动之为水溺涩之病。
Yellow Emperor asked:"When the leg, thigh and hip are all swelling and with pain around the navel, what is the disease?" Qibo said: "It is also called fuliang and it is stemmed from the wind-cold. When the wind-cold is discharged from the large intestine and retains on the membrane outside of the intestine, and as the root of the membrane which is outside of the intestine is on the Qihai point, pain will occur around the navel. This disease must not be treated rashly, ifit is treated improperly, dysuria will occur. "
帝曰:夫子数言热中消中，不可服高梁芳草石药，石药发瘼[何校云:“《甲乙》‘痕’作‘疽’”]，芳草发狂。夫热中消中者，皆富贵人也，今禁高梁，是不合其心，禁芳草石药，是病不愈，愿闻其说。岐伯曰:夫芳草之气美，石药之气悍，二者其气急疾坚劲，故非缓心和人，不可以服此二者[明抄二无“不可”七字]。帝曰:不可以服此二者，何以然?岐伯曰:夫热气懔悍，药气亦然，二者相遇，恐内伤脾，脾者土也而恶木，服此药者，至甲乙日更论[《甲乙》作“当愈甚”]。
Yellow Emperor said:"You have said many times that when one contracts the disease of retention of heat-evil in the middle warmer and diabetes involving the middle warmer, he must not take the refined cereals and foods or delicious taste, nor should he use the drugs of fragrant flavour and the medicine of the stone kind, as the medicine of stone kind, when taken,it may cause the subcutaneous ulcer, and the drugs of fragnant flavour may cause mania. As most of the patients who contract the disease of retention of heat-evil in the middle warmer and diabetes involving the middle warmer are rich people or people of the upper class in society, they are not accustomed to abstain from delicious food, but the disease will not be cured if the drugs of fragrant flavour and the medicine of the stone kind are not applied. I hope to hear your opinium about it."
Qibo said: "Most drugs of fragrant flavour are hot in property and most medicines of the stone kind are violent, and both of them are urgent, swift, firm and vigorous. They can by no means to relax the body and spirit of a man."
Yellow Emperor asked: "Then why are these two kinds of medicine must not be taken?" Qibo said:"The heat-evil itself is urgent and vigorous, and so are the energies of medicine, when they join together, the spleen will be injured; as the spleen-energy belongs to earth, and earth detests the subjugation of wood, if the medicine are taken, the disease will become aggravated when encountering the days of Jia or Yi."
帝日:善。有病膺肿颈痛胸满腹胀，此为何病?何以得之?岐伯曰:名厥逆。帝日:治之奈何?岐伯日:灸之则瘠，石之则狂，须其气并，乃可治也。帝日:何以然?岐伯曰:阳气重上[“上”字疑涉下衍]，有余于上，灸之则阳气入阴，入则来，石之则阳气虚[胡本，元残二“气虚”并作“出内”]，虚[“虚”字疑误，据王注应作“出”]则狂;须其气并而治之，可使全[《甲乙》“全”作“愈”]也。
Yellow Emperor said: "Good. There is a kind of disease with swelling and pain over the chest and neck, fullness of chest and distention of the abdomen. What is the disease and how is it being contracted?" Qibo said: "It is called Jueni."
Yellow Emperor asked:"How to treat it?"Qibo said: "If the disease is treated with moxibustion, the patient will have dysphonia; when it is treated with stone needle, the patient will have mania. It can only be treated at the time when the upper and the lower energies intercourse. " Yellow Emperor asked: "Why is it so?" Qibo said: "The Yang energy is ascending, so, the patient is heavy and has a surplus above, if moxibustion is applied, it will be supporting fire with fire, when Yang is overabundant and Yin is debilitating, Yang energy will take advantage to enter into Yin, and the debilitating Yin energy will not be able to support the root of tongue, and dysphonia will occur; if the disease is treated will stone needle, the blood will be discharged along with the pricking to cause the debility of Yin, and the debility of Yin will cause the overabundance of Yang which will cause mania. When treating, it is neccessary to wait until the intercourse of the upper energy and the lower energy, so as the disease may be cured."
帝日:善。何以知怀子之且生也?岐伯日:身有病而无邪脉也。
Yellow Emperor said: "Good. How can one know that a woman is pregnant and will give birth to a bady?" Qibo said: "One can know it by diagnosis, when the woman seems to have disease, but has no signs of disease in the palpation, then she is pregnant."
帝日:病热而有所痛者何也?岐伯日;病热者，阳脉也，以三阳之动[《甲乙》“动”作“盛”]也，人迎一盛[《甲乙》“盛”下有“在”字]少阳，二盛太阳、三盛阳明，入阴也[《太素》、《甲乙》并无此三字]。夫阳入于阴，故病在头与腹，乃肛胀而头痛也。帝日:善。
Yellow Emperor asked: "There is a kind of disease of having fever and pains in various parts in the body, and what is the reason?" Qibo said: "All diseases with fever appear in the Yang pulse, and when the patient has fever, all the pulse conditions of the three Yang channels are overabundant. When Renying pulse is two times as large as the Cunkou pulse, the disease is in the Shaoyang Channel; when it is three times as targe as the cunkou pulse, the disease is in the Taiyang Channel; when it is four times as as the cunkou pulse, the disease is in the Yangming Channel. When the evil-energy enters into Yin channels from Yang channels, the disease is in head and abdomen, and the headache and abdominal pain will occur. " Yellow Emperor said: "Good."
