帝日：有病肾风者，面胕庞《甲乙》卷八第五“然”下有“肿”字]然壅，害于言，可刺不?岐伯日:虚不当刺，不当刺而刺，后五日其气必至。帝日:其至何如?岐伯日：至必少气时热[《甲乙》“时”下无“热”字，“时”字属下读]，时热从胸背上至头，汗出，手热，口乾苦渴[吴本无“口乾”二字，滑抄本“苦”作“善”]，小便黄，目下肿，腹中鸣，身重难以[《甲乙》“难”下无“以”字]行，月事不来，烦而不能食[滑抄本“烦而”下无“不能食”三字]，不能正偃，正偃则劾[“劾”下脱“甚”字]，病名曰风水，论在《刺法》中。

The patient will also have irritable and depressed sensation of the chest, being unable to stoop or lift, and he will cough severely if he stoops or lifts. The disease is called the windy-water, which is expounded minutely in 《The Method of Pricking》."
帝日:愿闻其说:岐伯日:邪之所凑，其气必虚，阴虚者、阳必凑之，故少气时热而汗出也[《甲乙》“也”字作“小便黄”]。小便黄者，少腹中有热也。不能正偃者，胃中不和也。正偃则劾甚，上迫肺也[“上”上脱“气”字]。诸有水气者、微肿先见于目下也。帝曰:何以言?岐伯日:水者阴也，目下亦阴也，腹者至阴之所居，故水在腹者，必使目下肿也。真[明抄本“真”作“其”]气上逆，故口苦舌乾[《太素》“口”上无“故”字]，卧[《太素》“卧”作“故”]不得正偃，正偃则咳出清水也。诸水病者，故不得卧，卧则惊，惊则咳甚也。腹中鸣者，病本于胃也[明抄本“病”下无“本”字。张琦说:“‘胃’当作‘脾’”]。薄脾则烦不能食[《医垒元戎》卷十引“脾”作“胃”]，食不下者，胃脘隔也。身重难以行者，胃脉在足也。月事不来者，胞脉闭也，胞脉者属心[《阴阳别论》“属”下有“于”字]而络于胞中，今气上迫肺，心气不得下通，故月事不来也。帝日:善。

All patients with the syndrome of retention of fluid have slight swelling under the eyes, it is due to the spleen earth fails to control the kidney water, and the water controls instead."
Yellow Emperor asked: "Why is it?" Qibo said: "Water belongs to Yin, the position under the eye belongs to Yin as well, the abdomen is the place where the extreme Yin locates, so there is accumulation of water in the abdomen and slight swelling appears under the eyes. When the heart energy reverses up, the mouth will feel bitter, the tongue will become dry and the patient can not lie on his back, if he lies on his back, he will cough out clear water. Every patient invaded by water-energy can not lie on his back, if he lies on his back he will feel startled and uneasy which will cause the coughing even severe. Borborygmus is caused by asthenia of spleen. When the water-energy coerces the stomach, the patient will feel irritating and refuse to eat. When the patient is unable to swallow any food, it is due to there is some hinderance in-the stomach. When the body feels heavy and the patient finds difficulty in moving, it is because of the channel energy of stomach runs to the feet downwards. The ceasing of menstruation of a woman is due to the stagnation of the uterus collaterals. The uterus energy belongs to the heart, and the uterus collaterals connect the uterus, when the water energy reverses up to coerce the lung, the heart energy will be unable to communicate with the lower part of the body and the menstruation will cease." Yellow Emperor said: "Good."
