1. 汉语中的顿号，在英文译文中一般变为逗号，但是，如果原文句子中只有一处顿号，在译文中可以使用一个“and”，如果有一连串的顿号，最后一个顿号要变为“and”。

（1）搞一点原子弹、氢弹，我看有十年功夫完全可能。

I think it is entirely possible for us to develop some bombs and hydrogen bombs within ten years.

（2）人民大会堂建成整整40年了。这座当年由毛泽东主席亲自命名，周恩来总理直接领导和指挥设计、建造，凝聚了中国人民智慧和创造力的宏伟建筑，已经成为中国最重要的政治、经济、文化、外交活动的中心场所。

Four decades have elapsed since the completion of the Great Hall of the People, a magnificent building whose name was given by the late Chairman Mao Zedong and whose design and construction was under the direct leadership and supervision of the late Premier Zhou Enlai. 2.汉语中的书名连同书名号，译为英语时变成斜体，书名中的主要词的首字母均要大写，但书名上不加任何其他符号。如：中国文学宝库中四大古典名著是：《西游记》、《三国演义》、《水浒》和《红楼梦》。

The Pilgrimage to the West, The Romanance of the Three Kingdoms, All Men Are Brothers, and The Dream of the Red Chamber are four famous classic masterpieces in the treasure-house of Chinese literature.

3.汉语中句号的基本形式是小空心圆，而英语中的句号为实心圆点。书写时应注意规范。

（1）以引文结束的句子，其句号有两种安排方法，美式英语中把它放在引号内，即使所使用的一段文字不是一句完整的话，也要放在引号内。如：

1999年世界园艺博览会的主题是“人与自然，迈向21世纪”。

The theme of the World Horticulture Expo'99 is "Man and Nature, Marching Toward the 21st Century.”

（2）1998年10月，《时代》杂志列出了世界上最有影响的50位电脑时空研究专家，其中有两个中国人，一个就是负责中国政府建立的数据通讯网络，被这家杂志称为“中国因特网之父”的刘云杰。

In October 1998, Time magazine named the 50 most influential cyberspace people in the world. Of themselves are Chinese. One is in charge of the data communication networks built by the Chinese government, and was called by the magazine "the father of China's Internet." (China Today)

（3）在英式英语中，这样的句号一般都放在引号外。逗号也用类似的方法处理。
