汉语多短句，可断可连。文学作品和一般文章里随处可见。汉语的短句决定了它要使用较多的动词，英语的长句决定了它使用更多的连系词，如介词、连词等。所以，善于粘贴是英语成熟的标志之一，而粘贴中最常见的工具莫过于with。

（1）挨我们这一头，全是干净的沙地，上面罩着几株伞也似的绿荫。

At our end was clean sand with umbrella-like trees shading above.

（2）接着又踏着楼梯，上楼看了宽大敞亮的卧室，里头摆着大衣柜、高柱床。
