胃肠激素(gut hormones 或gastrointestinal hormones)

胃肠激素主要有以下5种:促胃液素(gastrin)、促胰液素(sectesin)、促胃动素(motilin)、抑胃肽(gastric inhibitory)和缩胆囊素(cholecystokinin)。

in是表示素、质、精的后缀,表示一类小的化合物。gut、intest 都表示肠，-nal是形容词后缀,gastro-(胃),gastric表示胃的，gastrointestinal 就是胃肠道的，motion是运动，故 moti-表示运动的；cholecyst(0)-(胆囊的)，kin-有运动之意，这二者结合cholecystokin 就是使胆囊运动，缩胆囊的意思。
