这里要介绍的前缀Post-与“邮政”一点关系也没有，它原是一个拉丁介副词，意思为after或behind (后，次）。作为原生前缀，它一般与拉丁词根结合构成表示时间或次序的原生词。但现在它也可作为派生前缀与单词结合，有时后接连字符号。当 post-作为介词性前缀与名词结合时，可能改变词基单词的词性， 生成形容词。
