汉语对照，字义基本对应，但形式在译文中做了改变，均由动词短词变为了名词短语，却又转换得那么自然。
4. 大批仁人志士，满腔悲愤，万种辛酸，想有所为而不能为, 真是英雄无用武之地。
So many men and women with high ideals，worried and frustrated,wished to do something about it，only to find that, able as they were, they had no chance to carry out their ideals.
汉语工整对仗、抑扬顿挫，英语却长短不一，参差不齐;汉语旣有“满腔”又有“万种”。英语却只有“焦虑”与“灰心”，并非历历俱足，思维方式，差异大矣！
5. 作为世界第一大洲，亚洲幅员广阔，人口众多，资源丰富， 有着巨大的发展潜力。
Asia，the largest continent in the world , is a vast land with a huge population, abundant natural resources and enormous potential for development.
原文三个四字结构连续排列语气强烈，齐头并进，译文却处理为一主二从句式，严守逻辑形式，层次分明。
6.我们必须解放思想、实事求是、扎实工作，开拓进取……
We should emancipate our minds，seek truth from facts and work hard and creatively.
前三个四字结构基本照字直译，最后一个转换为一个副词，这是原文逻辑语义的要求，尽管句式结构有了变化，却同样承续了原文的气势。
7. 今后15年是承前启后、继往开来的重要时期。
The next 15 years represents an extremely important period linking the past with the future.
后一个四字结构实际上是对前一个语气的加强，两个四字结构表达的是一个意思，汉语不如此语气会显单薄，英语若照译则显重复累赘。还看一例：
8. 防止个人专断和各自为政，反对有令不行、有禁不止。
To prevent the tendency to make decisions arbitrarily and go their own way and oppose the defiance of orders and prohibitions.
后一个四字结构实则也是前一个语气的延伸，属“同义重复”现象，实际意义为“违抗禁令”，译出来似乎不如原文那样语气强烈，然而意义却十分贴切。

上述各例淸楚地表明了汉语四字结构在英译文中的不同表达方式，为我们在汉译中如何处理这类表达提供了借鉴的方法和途径。
